Thaumatrope’s approach to making video collage is centred on surprise, perceptive faculty and feel for things.The way of getting there is observing movements of human or animal bodies, the transformation of physicality into motion, layering and blending movements at different paces to sharpen the perception of time while leaving doors open to admit coincidence. This process is playful rather than preconceived or planned in its entirety. 

All animal bodies are composed of "acted" individual parts. Hands and legs or even the whole body of the performer are the elementary particles of any artificial form. Whether they are tiny creatures like diatoms, paramecia, lunar owls, luminescent flies or omnivorous fish is irrelevant. Acting forms. The substance of a new form. Acting is the substance of transformation, of movement, of the living.
